The ‘Continuum’ series embodies an experimental journey where the past informs the future, with each layer of completed artwork building upon its predecessor. Across three panels representing the facets of the human psyche—Mind, Body, and Spirit— oscillating between artistic styles, seamlessly weaving realism, surrealism, and abstraction. This concept finds resonance in ancient customs of reusing ceremonial spaces, preserving the essence of prior events while ushering in new narratives.

Time is a crucial part of this process and 18 paintings in total must be completed in a relatively short period. Acrylic paints are used for their ability to dry quickly and once the image is finished it is documented and then gessoed over, initiating a fresh canvas for expression. This approach demands a balance between meticulous planning and intuitive responses, as I navigated unexpected textures and hues from underlying layers.

Upon completion of the series, a final layer of resin serves as a ceremonial seal, encapsulating the essence of each painting within its glossy sheen. Through ‘Continuum,’ I invite viewers to partake in a transcendent journey, where the passage of time intertwines with layers of artistic exploration, culminating in a testament to the enduring spirit of creation.
